Joining the conversation on Gippsland’s energy future

SEC will be at the Gippsland New Energy Conference (GNEC) in Traralgon on 18 and 19 August, joining industry, government and community leaders to explore the opportunities emerging from Victoria’s energy transition.

As Gippsland continues to play a major role in Victoria’s renewable energy future, SEC will be contributing to discussions across the two-day program. From investing in new energy infrastructure and creating opportunities for workers and communities, to helping households and businesses make the switch to electric.

Hear from SEC

On Tuesday, SEC CEO Chris Miller will speak on Putting consumers and communities first – investing in Victoria’s energy future, exploring the role of public energy in delivering benefits for Victorians.

Sian Fitzpatrick and Tierney Evans will work with GNEC Academy students, shining a spotlight on clean energy careers and the opportunities emerging for the next generation of workers.

On Wednesday, SEC Chair Simon Corbell will present Delivering the next generation of public energy, while SEC leaders will contribute to panel discussions exploring some of the opportunities and challenges shaping Gippsland’s transition.

Lane Crockett, Executive General Manager Assets, will join a discussion on social procurement and how major energy projects can deliver real benefits for local businesses, workers and communities.

Marcus Leong, Chief of Staff and Executive General Manager Strategy, People & Performance will take part in Powering Gippsland: Building an Inclusive Workforce for New Energy, discussing how the transition can support a diverse and skilled regional workforce.

Sumone Chakravarti, Executive General Manager Consumer & Innovation will join Making Electrification Work for Gippsland, exploring how electrification can work for households and communities across the region.

Visitors can also find us at the SEC Pavilion, where we’ll be sharing more about the work SEC is delivering across Victoria.

The pavilion will host a series of short sessions showcasing practical examples of the energy transition already underway.
