Governance

SEC Victoria Pty Ltd is a state-owned energy company incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and declared a state-owned company under the State Owned Enterprises Act 1992 (Vic).

The SEC sets high standards for governance, with an approach based on the principles of best practice corporate governance as well as public sector entity accountability and oversight. We focus on building trust and confidence through having a clear purpose, accountability, independence, transparency and integrity.

Governance framework

SEC Victoria’s board is supported by two standing committees, the Audit and Risk Committee and the Investment and Assets Committee. These committees assist the board to focus more deeply on complex areas that are critical to the good governance of the SEC. Membership of the Committees is a subset of directors from the Board.

SEC Victoria has a Board Charter which sets out its core purpose, responsibilities, and ways of working.
