We are proud to be providing Victorian government schools with 100% renewable electricity. As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we want to help students understand where this energy comes from and why it matters.
To support this, we are pleased to share a short educational video and accompanying worksheet that explains:
- the difference between non-renewable and renewable energy
- why the transition to renewable energy is better for our environment
- how renewable energy is converted into electricity.
These resources have been designed for flexible classroom use:
- Primary schools – an engaging activity to stimulate further discussion and explore energy use within the school environment
- Secondary schools (Years 7 & 8) – content to build deeper understanding of renewable energy and its impact.

Teachers can use the video and worksheet as part of their lesson planning, or as a stand-alone activity to spark discussion about sustainability and our shared energy future.
Information about other SEC school activities can be found on our schools activites page.
We hope these resources will be a useful addition to your school’s teaching toolkit, inspiring young people to learn, ask questions, and think critically about the role renewable energy plays in protecting our environment.
