Strong community and industry engagement for SEC Delburn Wind Farm sessions
06 March 2026
SEC has wrapped up a series of community and industry engagement sessions across Gippsland, giving local residents and businesses the opportunity to learn about work and supplier opportunities at the SEC Delburn Wind Farm as it gears up for construction in late March.

More than 200 local businesses and residents attended the sessions held in Yinnar, Boolarra, Leongatha, and Morwell.
SEC Executive General Manager, Assets, Lane Crockett, said the sessions provided an important opportunity for Gippslanders to meet the project team, ask questions about upcoming construction and understand how they could participate in the project.
“The SEC Delburn Wind Farm brings significant local benefits, including more than 300 local jobs during construction and more than $22 million in neighbour and community benefit sharing programs over the wind farm’s 35-year operational life.
“The Latrobe Valley has a highly skilled local workforce with decades of energy generation expertise, and we’re excited to be out connecting with community about the work and supplier opportunities the project offers,” said Mr Crockett.
Project delivery partners were also on hand, including OSMI Australia, Vestas and Delta Group, to provide insight into upcoming works and supply chain opportunities.
Adam Monument, Workshop Manager at Stable Engineering who attended the Morwell industry briefing on Wednesday evening said he was excited about the project being delivered in Gippsland.
“As a local family-owned business that’s been here a long time, we’d like to maintain a presence in our field of speciality,” Mr Monument said.
The community drop-in sessions gave residents a chance to ask questions about the project’s construction schedule, including local road upgrades, as well as neighbour payments and community benefit sharing programs.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this month with the SEC Delburn Wind Farm expected to be operational in 2028. The wind farm will feature 33 turbines generating up to 205 MW of renewable energy — enough to power more than 130,000 homes — and marks SEC’s return to power generation in Gippsland after 30 years.
